Always Out of Reach P.2
Annabeth usually found herself slightly mesmorized by him when he was fighting. Particularly when he was fighting shirtless.
Percy stood barefoot in the middle of the arena, because he said it was easier to fight without shoes. Wider range of motion, or something like that. He kicked and flipped and punched the straw dummies set up around him, moving “the way some people play chess: like he was putting all the moves together and you couldn’t see the pattern until he made the last move and won.” At least, that’s how Percy had said it. He’d learned it from studying Quitus years ago.

“Piper? Piper!”
Annabeth tried not to let her voice betray the frantic, panicky energy building up inside her as she searched the camp for the daughter of Aphrodite.
“She was down by the lake last I saw her,” a nearby satyr supplied, looking at Annabeth with concern.
She nodded her thanks and dashed off toward the canoe lake, too preoccupied to wonder what he must have thought of her.
Sure enough, there on the beach was Piper along with most of the Aphrodite cabin. Many of the girls were tanning in bikinis or reading gossip magazines, but Piper was lounging under the shade of a pine on top of the dunes,
Surfing
Annabeth bit her lip. “Percy, are you sure this is a good idea?”
“Yeah, why wouldn’t it be? You’ve got great balance.”
She could think of no reply.
“Oh, come on,” Percy said, readjusting the surfboard under his arm. “The Annabeth Chase I know can accomplish anything she sets her genius mind to.”
That strengthened her resolve. “Let’s do it.”
But surfing was no where near as easy as she’d thought. Percy kept the waves calm, letting Annabeth get used to the feel of the board beneath her, instructing her on how to get on her feet an
We were struggling to avoid the lava. Coming from the rocks on both sides, waterfalls – or would it be lavafalls? – met the fire river and it was becoming wider. As I looked ahead and tried to locate a safe path, something really big and scary growled loudly behind us. And I made the mistake of looking back at it.
I cursed. Usually, Annabeth would have punched me and reprimanded me for what I’d said – it had been pretty bad –, but she noticed something was wrong and looked back as well. She almost fell from my arms. As I caught her, she muttered something.
“You know what that is?” I asked, my voice
Annabeth was starting to get suspicious. At first, I had been able to fool her into believing I was only anxious about my finals, but it wasn’t working so well anymore. It didn’t make much of a difference, since I hadn’t actually thought I’d be able to trick her for so long.
We spent our afternoon walking down the Central Park and just having a good time. Everything was going great, except for the times I felt shivers running down my spine, as if Athena was watching my every move closely. Even though I had talked to the goddess, she hadn’t been absolutely happy about my plans. But she gave her blessing in the en
Days we've gone without food. Days. And on top of that Annabeths ankle hasn't had time to properly heal so she hasn't been getting any better.
Currently, we're walking through the damp and dark tunnel that will hopefully leed to the doors of death. That's a pleasent name isn't it. Doors of death. makes me wonder what we will encounter when we get there. If we get there.
The only thing that is making this all bearable for me is the fact that Annabeth is here. Even though we are in probably the worst sircumstance ever she still is able to at least pretend to be optimistic for me.
"Perce, can we stop for a second to rest," Annabeth says scrun
Sometimes I stopped to wonder about the things I’d done in my demigod life. I’m not the one to gloat or anything, but there were some impressive things, Annabeth assured me. And thinking of it, I did do a bunch of stuff.
I had travelled across the country a lot; to return to my dear Uncle Zeus his lightning bolt – which I hadn’t been sent to steal, thanks for the faith in me –, to find Artemis and the Ophiotaurus – or Annabeth, whatever –, to be part of Hera’s switch-demigods game… And that’s not talking about the Labyrinth or the Sea of Monsters.
I had been to the Underworld a co

"You know, you're falling for her. Just like me and Silena," Beckendorf told Percy.
"Am not," Percy denied.
So maybe he did like Annabeth a little. It didn't mean that he needed to tell the entire camp.
"Don't try to say no, Percy. You totally dig her." Travis nudged him.
"Yeah, always going on tons of quests with her." Connor winked at Percy.
"I'm not falling for her. We're just friends." Percy said it bluntly.
He knew it was a lie, but Percy didn't care.

"You two are gonna be the cutest!" Silena squealed as they sat
Percy was snoring.
Funny, Annabeth thought, as she stood as a shadow over his bed, that he would be sleeping soundly while sweet dreams remained stubbornly out of her reach.
She slipped off her cap and felt the familiar brush of her hair as it tumbled down her back. Its magic had returned since the Second Giant War had come to a closing. Athena had even apologized to her face for the mishap—a stiff, barely intelligible mutter, accompanied by an awkward handshake—but an apology all the same. Annabeth watched the faded white New York Yankees symbol brighten as she set it on Percy’s bedside table and it entered the circle of

“Perseus, calm down,” said Sally “Please honey, you have to quiet down. I don’t care that you don’t want to go in, if I fail this class it’s a lot of money down the drain honey.”
“I don’t wanna go! I don’t want to gooooooo!” Percy’s mother sighed, as she put her hands on her hips. “Moooommmmmyyyyyyyy!!!! No no no no no!”
“Come on Percy, I need to go in to get my books to study,” Sally murmured, but Percy only wailed. “Okay Percy, I’ll make you a deal. If you quiet down, and come in here with me, I will take you to the beach
